Create and change your schedule
Add your job from Home or Schedules. Choose weekly workdays, a repeating rotation or manual shifts. Rotations need a known date and cycle day. Change an individual date from Calendar; select the job before editing if you have more than one.
Back up before changing phones
- Open Settings from any main screen.
- Choose Export full backup and save the JSON file outside this device.
- On your new device, choose Restore from backup.
- Merge adds missing entries while keeping existing configuration. Replace overwrites schedules and included settings; type Replace to confirm.
A recovery option restores the data saved before the last import. On Deck has no server copy of your records. Apple's device backup is separate and depends on your settings.
Pay estimates and recorded hours
Pay shows scheduled gross estimates in US dollars using the rules you enter, separately for each job. Recorded hours do not change that estimate. Taxes, deductions and employer-specific policies are not inferred. Check your pay stub. For time-window differential estimates, unpaid breaks are deducted from the end of the planned shift because break placement is not recorded.
Widgets and reminders
The widget shows the first visible schedule. Open On Deck to refresh its saved dates if requested. Unentered manual-roster days are not confirmed time off. Reminders are optional local notifications; enable them in Schedules → your job → Reminders. iOS controls delivery and background refresh, so use another alarm for essential shifts and open the app regularly to replenish reminders.
Calendar and file exports
Export a selected schedule from Settings or its schedule details. Calendar access is optional and write-only. Every Calendar export creates new events; it cannot update or remove old events. Review repeat-export warnings and remove unwanted copies in Calendar. CSV, ICS and recorded-hours CSV exports are also available through the share sheet.
Privacy and deleting data
Core features work offline without an account. Read the privacy policy for local storage, optional permissions, deletion and support correspondence. Deleting the app removes its local data; exported files, Calendar events and external backups must be deleted separately.
