Questions, bug reports, feature requests, or a count that doesn't look right — all of it goes to the same place:

§2

Reporting a bug or a lost count

A counter that jumps, resets, or disagrees with your knitting is the worst kind of bug in an app like this, and we want to know. The fastest fix comes from an email that includes:

  • what the counter read, what you tapped, and what it read afterward
  • whether the counter has a repeat (rollover) or is linked to another counter
  • whether you were using the iPhone, the Apple Watch, or both
  • your device and iOS/watchOS version (Settings → General → About)

Frequently asked

Do I need to sign in or create an account?
No. RowCount has no account, login, or cloud sync — open it and it works.
How do repeats work?
A counter can roll over at a set length — row 16 of a 16-row repeat wraps back to row 1 and ticks the repeat counter above it up by one. Tapping the minus button unwinds that correctly, including backwards across a rollover, so a mis-tap is always recoverable.
I got a new phone. How do I move my projects?
Settings → Data → export a backup on the old phone, then import it on the new one. Because nothing is stored on our end, this is the only way to move projects — make the backup before you wipe the old device.
I uninstalled the app and lost my projects — can I get them back?
No, and we can't recover them on our end either — everything is stored only on your device (see our Privacy Policy), so uninstalling removes it for good.
Does the Apple Watch app work on its own?
Yes. It keeps its own copy of your projects, so you can count with your phone in another room. When the two are in range again they sync back up; if the same counter changed on both sides while they were apart, the more recently edited one wins and the discarded value is written into that project's notes so you can recover it.
Do you offer refunds?
Refunds for App Store purchases go through Apple, not us directly — request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Email us too if something didn't work as expected; we'd like to know either way.
Can you add [feature]?
Maybe — email us. We read every request even if we can't promise a timeline.
