RowCount does not collect personal data. Your projects, counters, notes, and photos stay on your device. There is no account, analytics, advertising, or app-operated backend. If you pair an Apple Watch, your projects sync directly between your own two devices — never through a server we run.
This policy covers RowCount and its Apple Watch app, published by Truck and Toolbox LLC.
None. Specifically, RowCount does not:
There is nothing here to opt out of, because there is no collection to begin with.
RowCount saves what a project-based counter needs to keep working: your
projects and their counters, current row values, linked repeats, notes,
yarn and gauge details, the per-day activity log, accumulated timer
totals, and any photos you attach. This is written as plain files in the
app's own private storage area on your device (technically, JSON files
under Application Support), the same way any offline app
keeps its working data.
That data never leaves your device on its own. We — Truck and Toolbox — have no way to see it, back it up, or receive a copy of it. Deleting the app deletes it, permanently, along with everything else in that storage area.
When you add a photo to a project, RowCount uses the standard iOS photo picker. That picker runs outside the app: you choose one image, and only that image is handed back — RowCount never gains access to your photo library, and iOS does not ask you to grant library permission for it.
The chosen image is copied into the app's own private storage, resized to at most 2048 pixels on its longest edge. The copy stays on your device and is deleted with the app or when you delete the photo in the app. The original in your library is never modified.
If you use the Apple Watch app, RowCount keeps your projects and counts in step between your iPhone and your paired Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This is a direct device-to-device transfer between two devices you own, mediated by iOS and watchOS. It does not pass through a Truck and Toolbox server, because we do not operate one, and it is not iCloud sync — nothing is stored in an account.
RowCount has no backend and makes no background network requests. There is no telemetry call, update check, or remote configuration, and every feature works in airplane mode. If you choose Privacy Policy, Rate This App, or Send Feedback, iOS opens the relevant website, App Store, or mail app. Any resulting network activity is initiated by you and occurs in that destination, not in RowCount.
Settings → Data lets you export a backup of your projects and import one back. When you export, RowCount writes a file and presents the standard iOS share sheet. RowCount does not choose a destination, send anything automatically, or receive a copy — the app or service you select handles that file under its own terms and privacy policy. Where you put your backup is entirely your choice.
None are used. No advertising network, no analytics provider, no cloud backend, no third-party SDK of any kind is built into RowCount. The app also contains no AI or machine-learning feature, and nothing you enter is used to train any model.
RowCount is a knitting and crochet row counter aimed at crafters of any age — but the point is moot either way: since no personal data is collected from anyone who uses the app, none is collected from children specifically, regardless of age.
If this policy ever changes, we'll update the effective date in the title block above and post the revised version at this same address. Because RowCount makes no network calls, it cannot notify you of a change automatically — check back here, or the Settings screen's privacy link in the app, if you want to see the current version.
